CONSIGNMENT

In many circumstances, it may be beneficial for clients to consider consigning their firearms instead of an outright sale. Usually the reasons for this can be when it is necessary to provide a precise valuation and sale proceeds related to an estate, very large collections where client value is maximized over timed sales versus a one-time lump sale, or when a client is not pressed for time or money, but would instead prefer to generate a stream of income or revenue over a period of several weeks to a few months.

 

Often a client's reasons for consignment versus an outright sale are as varies as the firearms themselves. However, there are definitely instances where it is advantageous for a client to consign their firearms for sale.

 

Consignment schedule and fees determined on a case-by-case basis. However, generally we operate on a sliding-scale of fees (as the value of each individual item goes up, our consignment percentage drops). Lower-priced items will roughly cost 30%, very high priced items may be as low as 18%. To keep things simple, all the costs of selling (listing fees, shipping, insurance, packing, shipping, etc.) are borne by us and come out of our consignment percentage. Our client's percentage is a straight number.
